Match Preview | Hereford v Oxford City
City look to go back-to-back
Oxford City make the journey to Edgar Street as they look to build on the brilliant win over AFC Fylde in the Enterprise National League North on Tuesday 27th.
The spirit is high in OX3 after a 1-0 win over promotion hopeful AFC Fylde. Ewan Clark's third goal in as many home games sealed the important three points for The Hoops.
They make the journey to Edgar Street, where they won 2-0 last year as Josh Ashby and Josh Parker both netted late in the game. Kai McKenzie-Lyle made a massive save at 0-0 and City claimed another important victory.
Earlier in the season, a rampant City beat a 10-man Bulls side 3-0. Matt Preston received a second yellow after bringing down Parker on the edge of the box. Ashby, Scott and Bearne all scored as City ran away winners.
Hereford are currently six games behind City but only five points behind. Given The Bulls haven't played many games over the last couple of months, the last time Hereford won a league game was 6th December.
Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins said: "It's always a good feeling after win like Saturday but we have to keep our feet on the ground and prepare for Hereford like it's any other day.
"The boys have been excellent and the senior lads have really stood up. The spirits are good in the camp and we are making some good strides."

FORM
HEREFORD- W L L D D
The only win in the last five games came in a 2-0 win away from home against Peterborough Sports as Gus Mufata and I-Lani Edwards' second half goals earned The Bulls a 2-0 win.
The win was followed up by back-to-back defeats against Chorley and Kidderminster. The winless run was then furthered as they held Merthyr Town to a point and then King's Lynn to a 0-0 draw.
Over the last eight games, Hereford have scored eight goals and conceded ten goals. They've scored the third least goals in the division this season.
OXFORD CITY - L D W L W
The Hoops have earned seven points in the last five games, which include wins against Buxton and AFC Fylde. The Hoops are unbeaten at home in 2026 and only conceded once.
In the last eight games, City have earned 1.38 points per game, which is a 43.8% increase only the previous eight.
City are still yet to win a game away from home and have the second worst away form in the league after Leamington, but Hereford have the worst home record with just two wins in nine games.
ONE TO WATCH - Omari Sterling-James
A Birmingham City academy product, Omari gained vital experience in the men’s game from a young age joining Alvechurch at just 19.
With an abundance of experience in the national league system, Sterling-James has played over 200 games at both step 1 and 2 for the likes of Solihull Moors, Brackley Town, Ebbsfleet and Kidderminster Harriers.
The forward hasn’t just stayed in the non-league system, he has made almost 50 appearances in League Two for Cheltenham Town and Mansfield Town.
An internationally capped player, Omari has run out for his national side, St. Kitts & Nevis, over 30 times.
THE MANAGER - Paul Caddis
Caddis has been in charge of The Bulls since April 2023. He signed a two-year deal and is proving to be more than capable as he took Hereford to their highest ever finish with their highest ever points total, resulting in a one-year extension.
He also enjoyed an illustrious playing career, playing more than 350 times and representing Scotland at both youth and senior level.
Caddis started his career with Scottish Premier League club Celtic. He broke into the first team during the 2007–08 season, but never managed to hold down a starting place over the next few years. He spent the second half of the 2008–09 season on loan to Dundee United. Caddis was sold to English League One club Swindon Town in August 2010.
He spent the 2012–13 season on loan to Birmingham City, joined the club on a permanent contract in September 2013, and in the final match of that season, he scored the stoppage-time goal that saved the team from relegation from the Championship.
