Minute 9 Sponsor Oxford City U12 Girls JPL

September 9, 2025

Welcome back Minute 9.

Oxford City FC would like to thank MINUTE9 for their continued support and their sponsorship of our Girls under 16 JPL side for the season.

This season sees City expanding the number of girls teams within the club as our commitment to a pathway for female footballers of all ages in Oxfordshire continues to grow and MINUTE9 have seen this close up as Founder Eamon Devlin told us:

“I think the way the club supports women’s football is amazing and if we can help that along as a business then that’s great for us. The connection is my daughter who plays for the team and who actually inspired what MINUTE9 do as a business.

“As a very young footballer, at a different club, she had a coach who spent the whole of half time talking to the players in an extremely negative way, to the extent that it put her and a couple of other players off playing.

"I went away and researched, and a coach has just nine minutes to talk to the players at half time, so why wouldn’t you want to use that time in the most constructive way you can?

“If you use that time properly you can change so much and inspire those around you, whether it’s a junior team or at the top level. I talked to people within football and sports psychology and the business grew from that one match.

“There are ten of us involved now and we are working with Premier League clubs as well as Real Madrid and clubs at all levels.

"Obviously there’s no pressure on the coach of Oxford City Girls Under 16 when I’m standing there watching their team talk!

“I’m pleased to say my daughter regained her love of the game and Oxford City have played a massive part in that so it’s great to give a little bit back.”
