Hoops hook up with community hub.

Oxford City FC are thrilled to be partnering with one of Oxford’s up-and-coming community hubs.

Oxford City Farm are a community led charity in the heart of East Oxford, growing food and community. They provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with farming and food production, animals, nature and each other.

Open to visitors twice a week, the Farm is an inspiration as both a meeting place and education hub every single day.

Chris Williams, Oxford City’s Head of Partnerships said: “We have loved working with our friends at the Oxford Bus Company and Get Radio on the Brand the Bus competition and are looking forward to building on our existing partnership with Sobell House, who won the competition this year.

“But the panel of judges were hugely impressed by Oxford City Farm and having been down to visit and meet everyone it is a truly inspiring place. There are obvious ways we can support each other in terms of community and education.

“We would love people to offer help and support and once again it’s a great example of how we as a football club can work with amazing causes all across Oxfordshire.”

Nicole of Oxford City Farm said:  “It has been incredible how Brand the Bus has opened doors for us, even before the bus with our branding on the back starts carrying people around Oxford.

"We went and met the taff and players at Oxford City and were slightly taken aback at the amount of work they are doing in the community.

"We share that passion for giving something back to the city of Oxford and we look forward to welcoming some pf the players very soon and, fittingly, to growing the partnership and seeing it flourish.”

Oxford City Farm is open to the public from 10am to 1pm on Friday and Saturday and yYou can find out more about their work right HERE.
