Between the ages of 6 and 13, Janaye played grassroots football for a boys team before moving to Brinsdown Rovers to play with girls. As a junior she also played for Enfield Town, our first pre-season opposition, and Pro Direct.

As a 16-year-old she moved into the academy system as a part of West Ham's set up. Within a year she was training with the first team and was moved straight into the U21 side.

Having declined her first pro contract, the central midfielder moved to London Bees in Tier 3, and then moved to Billericay in the same league.

From there it was a move to AFC Wimbledon for a few months before finishing the 2024/25 season with Actonians. Luton was her next destination before the move to The MGroup Stadium.

"Speaking with Aliyah and seeing what she's built at this club, it sounds so positive" Janaye told us "I really think it will be a good fit so I'm super excited to get started.

"I had one call and straight away I thought that this was a club I needed to be at. Everyone is extremely positive in the environment, coaches, players and everyone at the club. It's made it super easy to fit in and settle in.

"I've been at countless clubs since I started playing and I really think this will one I can settle at."

Women's First Team Manager, Aliyah Anthony said: "Janaye is a high quality player and will bring so much to our squad and dressing room.

"She has so much experience playing a high level and those standards will feed into the group.

"Janaye was right at the top of my list, in terms of players I wanted to sign and I'm super happy to get her through the door."
