Past Players Reunited
Programme donation leads to player reunion

Oxford City FC were delighted to welcome some very special guests at the weekend when members of the 1882 Club came along to see the current City side beat Worksop 2-0.
In the build up to the game former player Peter Harris, City goalkeeper in the early 70’s, contacted us to say that he had been clearing his loft and found match programmes from the era. He asked if he could drop them in so we could store them in the club archive.
We invited him to pop in for the match, not telling him that former teammate Tommy Eales was also coming to the game. The pair were part of the record breaking City side whose FA Cup tie lasted eleven hours.
The duo were reunited along with other former players including Jimmy Tonkins, Mark Taylor and Chairman Andy Sinnott and it was a pleasure to have them here as Head of Partnerships Chris Williams told himself:
“It was great to have the former players here. The 1882 Club is a great way for them all to keep in touch and we have special events where we invite players from every era of the club’s history.
"It was so nice to see the reaction from older fans when Peter walked in and we will treasure his programme collection and look forward to seeing him again soon.”
