City Women make it three wins in a row

Oxford City Women made it three wins in a row as a first half onslaught set up a 6-0 win away at Badshot Lea on Sunday.

A fourth goal in three games from winger Emily Harris, two more from top scorer Ellie White and strikes from Reese Ayers, skipper Grace Craven and midfielder Kate Parsons gave the Hoops all three points and kept them unbeaten since Aliyah Anthony became Manager.

Ayers set the tone with a neat finish after 13 minutes and City created further chances before Craven poked home a Parsons’ corner to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes. The third goal came when Anna O’Leary freed the prolific White and Harris and Parsons also then found the net before the break to leave City cruising.

Perhaps understandably the tempo dropped afer the break although City continued to dominate and had twice hit the woodwork before White took her tally to 19 for the season to make it 6-0 for on-fire City who have now scored 12 goals in their last two matches.

Next up is their first of two cup finals when they travel to Reading City on Sunday to take on Denham in the final of the Chairman’s Cup (11am)
