There’s no place like home for Oxford City Women midfielder Georgina Tayman who is enjoying life at the MGroup Stadium after committing herself for another season.

Georgina, “GT” as she is known throughout the club, first signed back in 2018 and has seen the women’s side of things continue to progress season on season.

“I think we have made huge steps forward with each season” she said. “When I started there wasn’t the pathway through for the younger players from Velocity and there simply weren’t as many opportunities in general. Now we have a squad that’s been together for a while, where half the players have come through from the age groups and into the senior group. That means we are really together and have a fantastic team spirit.

“We have a new Manager in Lyon and he has very clear ideas on where he wants the team to get to, and Aliyah Anthony is absolutely determined to drive the whole women’s programme forward, so I love being part of that. 

“I’m enjoying my football. It feels a bit weird when people talk about me being one of the senior players, I’m only 27 and I feel like I’m still learning all the time too. But if I can keep contributing to a successful team and be part of our growth then I am happy to help in any way possible.”
