Skipper pens new deal ahead of 2026/27 season

Oxford City FC are delighted to announce that we have agreed a new deal with skipper and midfield maestro, Josh Ashby ahead of the 2026/27 Enterprise National League North season.

Ashby extends his stay his already seven-year tenure at The MGroup Stadium as he agrees to new deal with The Hoops.

Ashby has swept up the bulk of the awards at the last two awards ceremonies and won Players' Player, Manager's Player and Fans' Player twice in as many years.

After signing, Ashby said:

“It's an honour to be here for another season.

“We were really heading in the right direction at the end of last year and hopefully we can continue that form and even better it as the season gets underway.

“I can't wait for the season to start and I just want to get back into the swing of things now."

Manager Ross Jenkins added:

“It's brilliant to have Josh back. He was a brilliant leader during the season and a real voice in the dressing room that we needed.

"On the field, he was obviously our stand out player and we did what we needed to do to make sure we stayed with us for this season."
