Match Preview | Curzon Ashton v Oxford City
City looking for three points
Oxford City play their first of two away games this week as they journey to Curzon Ashton to kick off the final ten games of the Enteprise National League North season.
The final stages of the season are rapidly closing in and points are becoming evermore precious. Three points separate The Hoops and the three sides below them, a victory now could make all the difference at the end.
City make the journey looking for their third straight win on the road, having defeated Worksop Town and King's Lynn Town. The turn in away form comes just as City's home form slips slightly having lost to Scarborough Athletic 2-0 on the weekend.
Tuesday night's hosts, Curzon Ashton are one of the most out of form sides in the league, but we have already learned that has no bearing on the result of the game whatsoever.
They do have an impressive attacking record, however, with three players who have scored over 10 goals this season (Tony Weston 13, Alex Curran 12, Brad Holmes 11).
When Curzon visited The MGroup Stadium earlier in the season both sides emerged from the tunnel in blue shirts forcing City into a shirt change after 12 minutes.
Tony Weston opened the scoring and Ewan Clark equalised after the break, but Ben Darby snatched all three points for The Nash.
Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins said: "Saturday was obviously a disappointing result but we have to bounce back.
"Out away form has been good and that is something we need to continue. The motivation and spirit is still there in the group and I have every faith in the lads."
