After an impressive unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday, City will be looking for an instant reply when Hungerford Town visit the RAW Charging Stadium.

City did the double over the Crusaders last season and will be looking for more of the same on Tuesday. After losing star man Ryan Seager in the summer, Hungerford have struggled to find the same form of their previous campaign. Danny Robinson's men currently sit second bottom of the table, but three points would take them within touching distance of Dulwich, who sit outside of the relegation zone.

LAST TIME OUT:

Reece Fleet scored a crucial winner against Hungerford for the second time in the 2021/22 season as the Hoops continued their promotion push.

The midfielder powered a fierce drive past Luke Cairney in the Crusader's goal just before half-time in a win that ultimately killed the away side's play-off hopes.

A first defeat in nine games on Saturday wasn't the ideal preparation City would have wanted in the build-up to a busy week but Ross Jenkins' side will be looking for an instant reply on Tuesday evening.

Reece Fleet is out of the contest as he serves a suspension for his red card against Taunton last week. Whereas there's positives for the Hoops as Canice Carroll and Lewis Coyle both return after serving their suspensions for accumulating five yellow cards.

Things haven't been going to plan for the Crusaders this year. Two wins in the VNLS so far makes for grim reading, even more so when Town have only taken points from four games this season.

A defeat to ten-man Welling on Saturday didn't do much to numb the blow of being beaten by fellow strugglers Cheshunt and Dulwich Hamlet either. However, Danny Robinson's side did record an impressive 3-2 victory over Bath City before their sticky spell.

ONE TO WATCH: Matt Berry-Hargreaves

Berry-Hargreaves was a fundamental part of Hungerford's team last season and will prove to be key if the Crusaders are to survive this season.

The versatile defender who can also play in midfield came through Hungerford's academy before transferring to Oxford United. Since returning to Bulpit Lane he has asserted himself as a fans' favourite and a solid VNLS player.
